I just got home from the Angell Animal Medical Center. Howie was admitted after they discovered that the source of his pain was spinal cord related. Since he was still able to walk, they were not able to perform an emergency x-ray (I guess the criteria to qualify to receive such care requires you to be paralyzed or otherwise unable to move normally-so I guess I should feel thankful).
He is going to be put on pain medication tonight and have blood work started to identify if the issue is disease related. I can’t get into the details of potential issues the doctor shared with Yavuz and I now as its too upsetting. I am hoping that he just got a pinched nerve and he is going to wake up tomorrow his normal happy self.
Needless to say, words can’t describe how I feel right now. On the positive side of things, he is still a very young/strong dog. I know that he will be ok.
