Yesterday, Howie returned to the North End after being away for nearly a month. My friend Yavuz (who Howie has been staying with since his injury) stopped by my place around 4pm to drop the little munchkin off. He seemed very excited to both see me again and to be back in the condo. He immediately sought out his crate, which is serving as his toy chest these days, and found one of his favorite bones. We played fetch for a short time and then I allowed him to take a nap while I finished some chores around the house.
When he woke up, I took him for a walk. He was quite a trooper. Howie made it all the way to Christopher Columbus Park. Once we arrived, he seemed to forget that he was hurt and decided to rough house with a sassy Boston Terrier who was running circles around him. This did not last too long as Howie decided very quickly to lye down and watch the fun instead of making it. Afterward, I took him over to Joe’s American Bar and Grill to join me for Dinner. He had a London Broil, I had a Lobster. A quick note about the staff at Joe’s: THEY ROCK! I have never been anyplace that is so pet friendly. Everytime that I have brought Howie there, they have gone out of their way to get me a great table outside where he can sit with me and bring him water and treats from the kitchen.
After Joe’s, we made the long Journey home. We were getting stopped every three steps to allow people who were passing us to pet him. He loved it! When we arrived back at the condo, he joined me on the couch where we watched a movie and fell asleep for the night. I really do love having him home!
