Tablet Hotels

Tablethotel_2 Yet another unique hotel review and reservation site that I often refer too, TabletHotels books themselves as experts in identifying noteworthy (often times designer) properties around the world.

They claim to only represent a hotel only after one is anonymously visited by someone in their network of travel experts.  The travel expert then submits a report which is reviewed by the companies co-founder and CEO, Laurent Verhes, as well as the other members of their selection committee–many of whom have travel industry, architecture or design backgrounds. They also get customers involved in ranking properties via their Tablet Hotels Meter.  Should a site fall below fifteen out of a possible twenty points, it is automatically removed from their selection.

Although they list sites from all around the world, this is one of the first sites to do a good job representing unique designer, boutique, and/or noteworthy properties here in Boston.  They review Nine Zero, XV Beacon, The Charles Hotel, and The Ritz-Carlton Boston.  They also introduced me to two new places that look amazing for a weekend getaway.  The Wheatleigh and Canyon Ranch.  Both are located in Lenox, MA.  Both are Contemporary Classic estates.

I would urge anyone that is interested in this genre of Hotels to opt-in to the LenoxHotels e-mail newsletter.  It only gets sent every two weeks (so it wont fill up your e-mail in-box) and it  highlights newly selected hotels and hand-picked specials, with a focus on a particular region of the world or new site features.
