Meredith, NH | Day 2

Meredith_nh_2005_004 I woke up early again this morning to catch another spectacular sunrise over Lake Winnipesaukee.  After my morning workout, we all went back to the Lakehouse Grill for breakfast.  This is the restaurant that is located inside the Church Landing Inn (@ Mills Falls).  I honestly thought it was going to be impossible to find any negatives associated with this beautiful trip to New Hampshire with my family.  The Lakehouse Grill proved me wrong.   It took us almost 2 hours to get served breakfast.  This held true for everyone around us.  Thankfully we did not have to suffer any wrong orders like the three tables in our general vicinity.  Hell, one table ordered Eggs Benedict—and they forgot to include the EGGS!!!!  Hopefully this was just an anomaly, and this venue normally lives up to the standard set by the Inn where it resides.

Meredith_nh_2005_052 Once we finished the "breakfast from hell", we packed up the car and headed out for a scenic drive of the Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mouton National Forest.  I was excited to take my parents and nephews on this drive, as they never have been through the park.  During our drive we were lucky to see a female moose near the side of the road.  This is the second time this year that I have been fortunate to witness one of the majestic animals in the wild (the first time was on August 8th).  We obviously pulled the car over and took several pictures.

After are tour of the White Mouton National Forest, we made our way back to my brothers place in Tewksbury, MA to deliver Zach and Alex as the guest of honors to their birthday party.

I have uploaded pictures of this very memorable getaway here.  Enjoy!
