Dino, a recent acquaintance of mine who is originally from Milan, introduced me to Ca’ Marcello. This property is a Palladian villa built in the second half of the 16th century by the Marcello family, one of the most powerful and noble families of Venice. Dino’s friend, Jacopo, manages renting out the wing on the left in the photo above to groups of 8-10. Count Vettor Marcello and his family live in the opposite wing. Since they did not have anyone booked from May 15th-20th, Jacopo was kind enough to invite me to stay in a room at the Villa during that time….which I was happy to oblige.
Since the Villa is located about 45 minutes outside of Venice, I plan to rent a car during my 5 days here and travel to Padove, Vicenza, Treviso, Castlefranco, Asolo, and of course Venice.
