Yesterday, my family and I visited the famous Frank Lloyd Wright house, Fallingwater. Also known as the Edgar J. Kaufmann Sr. Residence, Fallingwater was built in 1935 on Bear Run at Rural Route 1 in Mill Run, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in the Laurel Highlands of the Allegheny Mountains. It took us 2 hours to drive to from Wheeling, WV.
The house was breathtaking! It was amazing to finally visit this architectural masterpiece. Beyond the unique approach that Wright took in building the house over a waterfall, the interior is adorned with another 160 unique Wright designed pieces (including chairs, desks, bookshelves, etc.). Indeed, I plan to use some of the approaches used in Fallingwater as inspiration for when I redesign my loft in Boston.
