On June 6th, 1944 (63 years ago today), armed forces from the United States, Great Britan, and Canada landed on five seperate beachheads in Normandy, France to begin the process of liberating Europe from Germany’s stranglehold.
In 2003, I had the opportunity to actually visit Normandy. Some of the most impacting and treasured memories came from experiencing Pegasus Bridge, the American Cemetery, Omaha/Gold/Sword/Juno Beaches, and the pot marked landscape of Ponte-du-hoc.
