Off the Grid

Well not actually "off the grid"…but damn close.  I have decided to extend my weekend to include some time up in Campton, NH.  I drove up on Sunday afternoon and plan to stay at least through Wednesday afternoon.

Yesterday, I spent the day making good progress on the current book that I am reading "Leading for Growth".  I also took a long drive through the Baker Rive Valley.  This entailed heading west on Tenney Mtn Hwy starting in Plymouth, NH driving to Warren, NH.  It was a lovely drive.  Rural New Hampshire is quite beautiful!  Finally, I spent a lot of quality time with Howie.

Unfortunately, the weather has been somewhat rainy.  Thunderstorms hit us yesterday.  They are expected to pay another visit this afternoon.  In that case, I plan to hang some pictures in my condo and catch up with some more work and blogging.

  1. I think I too would take off for a long weekend if I had just lost a $4.9 million judgment (over $8.5 million once you include all the interest dating back to March of 2001). Ouch! You’re pretty upbeat for having just lost everything. I admire that! I think I would be drinking myself silly or considering jumping off a bridge — especially because the entire thing was so predictable and so avoidable. The sheer stupidity of it would simply drive me to madness. So keep your chin up and enjoy that long weekend! (However, the problem with a long weekend is that while you’re away, you’ve racked up another $9,000 in interest on that big $4.9 million judgment.) Double ouch!

  2. WOW! “Leading for Growth” — that is impressive! Perhaps with all that money you owe (about $8.5 million and growing by a couple thousand every day), you should read “Investing for Growth.” I would be happy to send you a copy. And don’t worry there is an edition that has mostly pictures.

  3. Thunderstorms? Thunderstorms hit you yesterday? Do you mean “multimillion dollar judgement?” A hundred dollar parking ticket is a thunderstorm. But a judgment for $4.9 million is a flood the likes that only Noah has seen.
