Much to my surprise, some of my photos are getting some attention on Flickr. Since I am an amature that shoots photography purely as a hobby, I find this all rather amusing.
Today, via Flickr Mail, I received an e-mail from Ali Moss, Managing Editor of Schmap Guides. She was writing to inform me that two of my photos have been short-listed for inclusion in their Schmap Aix-en-Provence Guide, to be published at the end of this month. They are:
The only odd thing about them selecting the above photos is that neither of them were taken in Aix-en-Provence. Instead, the top one is a photography of the Mediterranean Sea taken in Bandol. The bottom one was shot in Nice. Oh well, maybe they are planning to use them to highlight other beautiful places to visit in the South of France.
The next photograph that I was recently contacted about was one that I shot of the vertical garden at a boutique hotel in Paris called Pershing Hall. I stayed here the last time I visited Paris.
The individual requesting use of this photo lives in Paris and had recently attended a conference in the hotel. He is writing an article about it for his company newsletter and was interested obtaining the rights to use (kinda funny).
I hope that one day the photos I took in Tuscany, Italy this year receive some attention, as I believe they are far better. Regardless, I feel complemented for the above recognition.
